Pawslate is an informational tool. It does not provide veterinary medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The AI Symptom Triage feature is not a substitute for an examination by a licensed veterinarian. If your pet may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact a veterinarian immediately.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Pawslate, operated by Pierre Ilyamukuru ("Pawslate", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Pawslate iOS application or the related website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the service
Pawslate is a pet health record management tool for iOS. It allows you to:
- Store information about your pets (name, species, breed, weight, photos, and other details)
- Track vaccinations, medications, and veterinary appointments
- Receive informational guidance about your pet's symptoms via an AI-powered triage feature
- Export a PDF summary of your pet's health records
- Find emergency veterinary clinics near your location
Pawslate is an informational and organizational tool only. It is not a veterinary service. It does not establish a veterinarian-patient relationship.
3. Your account
To use Pawslate, you must create an account using Sign in with Apple. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service.
You are responsible for safeguarding your Apple ID credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Pawslate offers a free tier with limited features and a paid subscription, Pawslate Pro, with additional features including unlimited pets, unlimited AI symptom checks, and unlimited Vet History PDF exports.
Pricing
Subscription pricing, as displayed in the App, is currently:
- Monthly: $4.99 USD per month
- Yearly: $39.99 USD per year
Prices in other currencies are determined by Apple based on local conversion. Prices may change in the future; any change will apply only to future billing periods and you will be notified before renewal.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at the start of each billing period. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancellation and refunds
You can manage and cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple ID settings on your device (Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Pawslate. You can request a refund directly from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Veterinary disclaimer and limitations of AI
Pawslate is not a veterinarian
Pawslate does not provide veterinary medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All information provided by the Service, including but not limited to the AI Symptom Triage feature, is for general informational purposes only.
The AI Symptom Triage feature uses artificial intelligence to generate informational summaries based on the symptoms you describe. This feature has important limitations you must understand before using it:
- It can be wrong. AI systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading results. The AI cannot physically examine your pet, run diagnostic tests, or detect conditions that aren't described in the text you enter.
- It is not personalized medical advice. The AI does not know your pet's full medical history, current medications, or breed-specific risks beyond what you tell it.
- It should never delay emergency care. If your pet is experiencing severe symptoms — difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, suspected poisoning, seizures, collapse, severe trauma, or any condition you believe is life-threatening — contact an emergency veterinarian immediately. Do not consult Pawslate first.
- It is not a replacement for a veterinarian. Always seek the advice of a licensed veterinarian for any concerns about your pet's health. Never disregard professional veterinary advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in Pawslate.
By using the AI Symptom Triage feature, you acknowledge these limitations and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for decisions about your pet's care.
- Pawslate is not liable for any harm to your pet, financial loss, or other damages resulting from your reliance on AI-generated information.
- You will consult a licensed veterinarian for any actual medical concern.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any law or the rights of others
- Attempt to access another user's account or data
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks that support it
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Use the Service to provide veterinary advice to third parties as if it were professional advice
- Use automated means to access the Service in a way that places excessive load on our infrastructure
7. Intellectual property
Pawslate, the Pawslate name, logo, and all related visual identity, software, and content (excluding your own pet records and photos) are owned by Pierre Ilyamukuru and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. This license does not include any right to copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit the Service.
8. Your content
The pet records, photos, notes, and symptom descriptions you enter into Pawslate ("Your Content") remain yours. You grant Pawslate a limited license to store, transmit, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You are responsible for the accuracy of Your Content. You represent that you have the right to upload any photos or information you provide.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the App. Upon deletion, your data will be removed as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that any AI-generated content will be accurate or reliable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pawslate and Pierre Ilyamukuru will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages. If you are in such a jurisdiction, some of the above may not apply to you, and our liability will be limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pawslate and Pierre Ilyamukuru from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, this clause does not deprive you of the protections of those laws.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide notice through the App or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
